Archipelago Ring - Gold
Archipelago Ring in 10K Gold with Green Royston Turquoise
- One of A Kind, fits size 6 1/2 to 6 3/4
This striking piece of Royston Turquoise has been in my collection for almost 25 years. It reminds me of an archipelago and tells a visual tale of verdant isles adrift in a golden sea. The organic hand-carved gold setting is sculpted with a rippling, water-like texture. The U-shaped band feels natural on the finger and features three oval-shaped segments that reflect the shape of the stone. This piece is a representation of earth and ocean, vast yet grounding - a tribute to nature and the landscapes that inspire me.
The Royston Hills produce some of the most unusual green turquoise in the world. Royston stones are often two-tone, displaying both dark and light green, and sometimes blue. This oval cabochon features a beautiful two-tone coloration that subtly shifts from military green to teal. Its heavy golden brown Rhyolite matrix makes for a striking color combination. The Royston turquoise mine is located within the Royston District near Tonopah, Nevada. The Royston District consists of several mines including Royston, Royal Blue, Oscar Wehrend, and Bunker Hill. Discovered in 1902, it is the oldest patented mine in Nevada and one of the last American mines still operating today.
